Scrying the “Inner Aethyr” of TRATOMB

Enochian is an interesting practice because there are many suggestions that it’s intended to be expanded from the source material of John Dee’s diaries. First, it embodies the idea of continuous revelation, which is to say that the Divine continues to reveal itself to us, because Dee and Edward Kelley literally petitioned God for knowledge, understanding, wisdom, etc. Second, because it’s been reconstructed from lost material, we have to make do with the information that we have and fill in the gaps in the material. Third, there are times in the source material itself that the angels hint at additional material, such as the 30 additional Parts of Earth (for a total of 121, or 11 squared) or the hints that a different Holy Table may be ultimately used, which differs from the original one received.

So it was that I found myself looking at the notes on my phone that I took when creating the Book of Silvered Leaves: a 31st “inner” Aethyr that I just forgot about (LOL–remember to take notes, kids!) by the name of TRATOMB. Unlike the first 30 Aethyrs, this one’s name is seven letters long, which means that all the letters in these Aethyrs (so far) total 97. This is an interesting parallel to me between the Book of Silvered Leaves (96 leaves across 48 pages) and the Book Amzes Naghezes Hardeh (commonly known as Liber Loagaeth, which is 98 leaves across 49 pages–though there are 101 tables in all on it).

I recently scried this Aethyr and the pertinent parts from the vision are below:

I began by seeing four separate circles in a row, with the 3rd one offset downward, reminding me of the dip in a ladle. The four circles seemed like the Tetragrammaton to me. Then they arranged themselves as the base of a square pyramid (a symbol which appeared to me during my reconstructed gebofal ritual). They then told me to imagine these five points as a 5-cell rather than a square pyramid.

Next, I saw eight circles at the points of a cube. The circles then continued to increase according to the Fibonacci sequence. I reflected on how adding or subtracting 1 to elements of the Enochian system got you interesting results: 4 watchtowers plus one gets you 5, the fifth Fibonacci integer; the seven kings of the Heptarchia plus the one king over them (Carmara) gets you to 8, the sixth Fibonacci integer. 12 zodiacal kings plus one gets you 13, the seventh Fibonacci integer (Carmara has noted to me that, as Marmara, he also is the high king over the zodiacal kings); note that the dimensions of the watchtowers are 12 by 13. The 21 letters of the Enochian alphabet themselves are the eighth Fibonacci integer, and adding 1 comes to 22, the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet.

When it comes to reversals (the angels liked to reverse things, quoting Christ in Matthew, and numbers are no exception), 13 is the reverse of 31 (the Gematria value of one Hebrew name for God, El), 21 is the reverse of 12 (the number of apostles, tribes of Israel, signs of the zodiac, etc.).

At this point in the vision, I made an odd error–I added 21 to 8, not 13. I say that this is odd because I very rarely make arithmetic errors or mathematical errors in general (you’ll just have to take my word for it). At any rate, this led me to 29, which is an important Enochian number (see my summary of the number 29 as part of a larger analysis; a possibly easier to read summary, which follows from a more general introduction to Enochian, can be found in my Telicom article reprint). From here I added this to 21 and got 50, which is of course important in Gematria. This got me thinking about a potential alternatives to Fibonacci: 1,1,2,3,5,7 (5+2),12,19,31,50,81,112 (81+31–112 is the original number of letters in the vision given to Edward Kelley for Leaf 49)–every 6th number adds the previous number with the number two places back (rather than one).

Next, the angels pointed to the need to both add and subtract 1; subtracting from 4, you get 3, the number of points need to make a plane (note that Galvah mentioned “The Mystery of the Trinity”). 4 itself is the minimum number of points for the simplest 3D solid, a tetrahedron, while 5 is the minimum number for a hyperspace object, the aforementioned 5-cell. From 8, you can subtract to 7 (the septenary nature of Enochian), or up to 9, the trinity squared. From 13 (Christ and the apostles, Israel and his sons) you can go down to 12 or up to 14 (the number of kings and princes in the Heptarchy). From 21, you can go down to 20–half of 40 (cells in the outer ring of the Sigillum Dei Aemeth, Christ’s days in the desert, Noah’s days on the ark), or up to 22 as mentioned above. From 29 you can go down to 28 (Enochian’s 7 times the 4 watchtowers) or up to 30 (the number of Aethyrs received by Dee, the number of degrees in each sign of the zodiac). Ultimately the angels told me to look up the geometry, which is mostly done here–leave a comment if you find more interesting geometrical parallels.

Next the angels show me a light and a fractal pattern, then a golden ratio, but the angels are specific that I ought to think of this more as a fractal pattern. The golden ratio is an irregular number which converges after a long series, whereas a fractal pattern is regular from the beginning; “As above, so below, and as below, so above.” The angels show me that the light is coming through in this vision, and shows me my “point” along this fractal pattern, and show me that within, the pattern continues in a shrinking fashion, and without, it continues in a growing fashion. It’s up to the heart to rectify itself to the fractal of divinity, to “get out of its stupor” (misalignment of consciousness from the Divine).

When we move ourselves into the clear-light consciousness, because the “outer” world is not yet rectified with the Divine, there is the “skew” that CodyP has talked about, which slightly misaligns us once more out of the fractal of the Divine. The nature of the “Great Work” is to do the difficult thing of compensating for the dynamic skew. I ask, “How do I do this for myself? What is it that keeps me here?” The Divine answers, “It’s partly karma”–in the sense of how every seeker must undo a lot in their ecosystem. Because of the karma, we overly identify with the karma. We need to release ourselves from this thinking, and allow the fact that it’s going to take time. The Divine does what he can, knocking out some obstacles in my head, heart, and in the rest of my system. The Divine repeats to “just be patient, just do the work, just keep doing the work: that’s all you ever need to do,” and laughs gently. The Divine shows me one part in particular with respect to a major recent event in my life, he knocks the obstacle in my heart out there, too–allowing a greater freedom within these circumstances.

I see a large sphere that is being held by a space taken up by a cone, or more precisely a line that is rotating about an axis to create a cone. The xy-axis is not quite able to spin at the appropriate rate for the sphere to stay in the same level; this is a metaphor for the heart not being able to stay in the clear light. How does the heart compensate for this? It needs to find the bias within that is reflected in the bias without and somehow compensate for it. Part of it is working through the “unreality” or misconception or “lower-level” thinking that happens when one tries to armor the heart against the outside world. One also needs to compensate for the fact that not everyone else has done that yet and to allow for that. In that allowing and in that constant work of compassion and wisdom–yet not identifying with or craving a particular end-result of that compassion and wisdom–just allowing one’s heart to be in that space. Wisdom essentially allows one to be as effective as possible at one’s compassion, but the highest wisdom is not getting caught up in the particular results.

The vision ends and I feel very uplifted.

Ensigns for the Zodiacal Table (DIY File Included)

Update: Someone mentioned that they needed the Enochian Flip font. A user named Marco sent me a flipped file of the font, which will need to be installed. Please send him a tip for his work! You may need both versions: Version 1. Version 2.

A couple of nights ago, as I was charging up the tables, I received an idea for ensigns for the zodiacal table. Blank squares in the usual red and blue were already available, and indeed, these were to be “filled in.”

The method of derivation, as described by Galvah, King Marmara (Carmara’s name in heaven, which I associate with the zodiacal level) and Prince Hagonel, was to use every other letter from rows and columns next to the five-letter divine names on the Watchtower tablets. My impression is that there’s both a stabilizing factor as well as an increase in power in adding them to the zodiacal table. I will be updating my zodiacal table in due time and let you know if I observe any additional effects.

Below is the updated DIY file; the zodiacal table (tab: Personal HTOP) now has these ensigns embedded and grouped, and a single image combining the table and ensigns is below that one. A new tab for the Zodiacal Ensigns is in the Excel file also. It’s under a Creative Commons license, so please just attribute this correctly. Thanks, and good luck!

Squaring the Square to Reach the Root of the Circle: Reflections on the Watchtower Powers and Gebofal

See update at bottom:

One of the things that has stuck with me since yesterday (Day 37) of the gebofal(-like) ritual is the implications of the various angel “sets,” and how this relates back to the idea of squaring the circle from Days 33 and 34. With four elements and eight different angelic powers per element, and four angels per power and two controlling names of God per power…this gets complicated.

I’ve decided to reduce this largely to the powers and only exploring a single element of fire. Below is a diagram to help illustrate what I’m talking about; the colors are not completed but it’s sufficient:

A squared circle (roughly equal area, as this was done freehand); inscribed within the square is another square rotated at 45 degrees. There are six squares in all like this, with a rotation by 45 degrees for each square. Inscribed within the innermost square (which is rotated as a diamond) is another circle, and an equilateral triangle inscribed within that. The circle itself is quartered by an X, with each limb of the X shown by color (red, white, green, and black). Shown along the fire limb of the X (this could also be shown with any or all of the elements; the fire axis alone is only shown for the sake of simplicity) are four red squares.

Here, I have shown the powers roughly related to the fire quadrant; the order so much doesn’t matter to me, but rather a suggestion of an idea that the kerubs and “lesser” angels exist somewhere within these circles, corresponding roughly to the areas of the numbers 1 through 8 (only 1-4 are shown due to space constraints). I have created square ABCD to indicate an overlap between the powers of 1, 2, 3, & 4 (again, the order doesn’t matter so much to me, because such hasn’t been the order as they’ve arrived, but in this case Living Creatures, Transportation, Gold and Precious Stones, and Medicine).

The key point I want to make is that, regardless of the actual order, my conjecture is that the seniors occupy segments EF, FG, and, not shown, GJ, connecting these overlapping squares. The king would occupy the entire upper-left quadrant (this would require a cross which would make the diagram too busy, but use your imagination). I’ll also note that this roughly overlaps with the symbolism received during the vision:

Early iteration of the symbol: A taijitu with out accompanying inner dots, a Christian cross at its center, a diamond with indented sides about it, and a spiral about it.

The spiral here indicates the work that I’ve been doing to get at the center, and overlays well with the symbolic representation of the Watchtower tablets. The trinary nature of this is further symbolized by adding the pyramid and octahedron:

Later iteration of the symbol.

And finally, a later iteration suggesting the grounding of the symbol within earth:

Final iteration of symbol.

This was later expanded on Day 30.

I am still not entirely clear on the purpose of the triangular portion; I have considered a model of “inside-outside-union” or “God-person-earth” or “Heaven/Future state-Becoming-Earth/Present state”; none of this is clear and I leave it to the rest of gebofal for it to become clear. Nonetheless, the geometry and symbolism continues to hold my focus.

Finally, I wanted to note the general thrust or spirit behind the forms of the powers of the angels:

Transformation: energy/matter qualia change for perception
Transportation: distinction of spacetime for perception
Gold & Precious stones: single-pointed focus of perception
Living: creates ability to perceive
Medicine: agency to continue perception
Secret Discovery: arrangement of perception
Mechanical Arts: arrangement of matter/energy
Natural substances: perception of differences within matter (qualia)
Seniors (“to impart or influence, knowledge and judgment in human affairs”): rules distinguishing perception across perceivers (this includes necessary changes to matter and energy to do so).

Update: So it occurred to me that there are six seniors per element, not three. One could make the argument that there are three seniors going from the outer square to the inner, and then three returning, which is to say EF to FG to GJ (or whatever that final letter should have been: man, I lose track of my own system when I do rush jobs!) and then back again: JG to GF to FE. This implies directionality, and I’m unsure about this.

Another possibility seems more likely: factorial math, where 3! is the number of connections. In the example above, suppose the common point is of square ABCD and the subsequent square with F as its center (yes, I really should’ve set that up better!) is point D (which for the next square would be in the upper-left corner). The next square we’ll label DXYZ (because I have to start at the back of the alphabet now!), the next we’ll label YUVW, and the innermost we’ll label VRST. This would leave three common points—D, Y, V, and S—across four squares per element (recall that I could only show three squares due to space constraints!), representing all four combinations of power dyads. Thus, rather than the centers, we consider this in terms of common points, which themselves connect to each other as six seniors, represented as DY, DV, DS, YV, YS, and VS.

One could take this step further and imagine these six seniors as six points of an octahedron, connecting the more visible angels, each of which occupies a triangle representing a power. Yet there are four angels per power, and two names of God controlling each set of four! For the former, the only thing I can think of is that each Angel set is divided evenly into four equilateral triangles. For the latter, I think about the duality of regular polyhedra (credit to Tilman Piesk), and the dual of the octahedron is the cube, which can be diced into eight smaller cubes, each of which has a point most external to the center, and has the common center among them. Each of the names of God controlling these sets of four angels can be represented as the outermost and innermost points of the smaller cube.

Observations on the Order of the Watchtower Gebofal Calls (Part 2): Updated!

Update 1: See text.

Update 2: I have added King Carmara & Prince Hagonel to those days in which multiple kings & at least one prince must be called, for they are the high king and prince, respectively. See my write-up of Day 36, coming shortly. This also leaves (heh) both King Carmara & Prince Hagonel called times each.

I think I have something of a scheme (subject to change) which explains the different order that I’ve observed with respect to these leaves. Today (Day 35/Leaf 15), the tablet activated was the Air tablet, and because it’s Saturday, it was King Bnapsen who I called. He said that there will be a reversing, several times, of the tablet order.

Yet I have also noted the following: most of the time, the Enochian calls (which, among other things, are associated with the leaves of Amzes Naghezes Hardeh (Liber Loagaeth) of gebofal) sometimes have large numbers (i.e., in the thousands) in them, and these are relatively close to the number of servient angels associated with zodiacal kings in the Aethyrs. Yet there are some calls which do not have them.

Thinking through both of these discrepancies, I had a tentative order to the remaining days’ workings; it was beautiful, it was, in King Bnapsen’s words, “clever,” but “wrong.” Rather than show the original, here’s what he hacked with me during today’s solar noon scrying. I’ll link to this after the fact.

The only thing I’ll note is that tomorrow, Sunday, I will actually call on Prince Bornogo (in addition to King Bobogel). Other days I’m either calling on only the king or a king and prince jointly. Saturn and the sun invert their associations for exaltation and fall, so there are two days when their influences are combined (“the last shall be first, and the first, last.“)

The second of these, the last elemental day (yet n.b. that two watchtower calls remain on Thursday & Friday, and Leaf 1 I will read on Saturday), falls on Wednesday, yet King Bnapsen associated it with the Sun and Saturn. When I call on Prince Brorges the Saturday prior, it is nonetheless during Mercury’s hour). Mercury is mercurial! By then, astrological Mercury will be in exact trine to Saturn, and the sun the sun is transiting will be ruled by Venus, who will be in Mercury’s sign of Gemini. Finally, the sephirothic & planetary switch between Raphael and Michael for Tiphareth, Hod, Mercury, and the sun seem somehow reconciled with Saturn in this plan.

In general, he says, this is tailored to me and my natal chart (King Bnapsen notes that my Mercury is in Aries, the sign of the sun’s exaltation), so your results may vary.

Finally, note that the tablet order changes from:

  • Water-Earth-Fire-Air (West-North-East-South, which suggests the night, a reversal of the day), to
  • Air/South-Water/West-Earth/North-Fire/East (shifting the order by a single tablet), then
  • Air/South-Water/West-Earth/North-Fire/East (again), and finally:
  • Fire-Water-Earth-Air, which, interestingly, has the “first and last” from the previous two rounds reversed.

Here’s the table:

Observations on the Order of the Watchtower Gebofal Calls (Part 1)

I’ve noted experientially in other posts from Days 29-34 the apparent order of the watchtower tablets, which seem to match neither the order of the Tabula Recensa nor or the original table. Rather, and what I’ve been able to gather from experiencing the energy of the tablets under my feet (feel free to confirm, if you yourself undertake gebofal), the tablets themselves seem to follow the pattern of Water-Earth-Fire-Air. This follows a shifted pattern of the Tabula Recensa, where instead of starting at Fire/East, one would begin in the West and proceed clockwise until Air/South is reached. In the northern hemisphere (where Dee and Kelley received the tablets), this would indicate the elemental revelations beginning at sunset, or a night chart with the sun angular in the 7H. Thus, the magician is relating and interacting with another, (i.e., with God and the angels).

Because I started on a Sunday, the final Aethyr came on a Monday, meaning that Tuesday through Friday (today), I’ve had the kings of these days–Babalel (Mars), Bnaspol (Mercury), Bynepor (Jupiter), and Baligon (Venus). The first elemental calling (usually called “call 18” but, if you shift these Watchtower calls by one to account for the unspoken call 1, then it’s technically call 19) was therefore to Water on Tuesday, the day of Mars, with King Babalel, who is “Mighty and Wonderful in Waters.” Of the water signs, Mars’ greatest essential dignity is in Scorpio, which is the Night house of that planet. The following Heptarchical kings, and their planets, signs, elements (as I have received them this week), and house of the planet (i.e., day or night) are listed below:

  • Bnaspol (“To whom the Earth with her bowels, and secrets what so ever are delivered”)-Mercury-Virgo (in which Mercury is both exalted and in Domicile), Earth sign (and tablet), night house.
  • Bynepor-Jupiter-Sagittarius-Fire sign (and tablet), Day house
  • Baligon-Venus-Libra-Air sign (and tablet), Day house

Note that all four of these signs cover a continuous order. Additionally, the signs have triplicity of each planet exactly once, and the two projective (sometimes called “masculine,” a term I don’t like) signs’ planets are all those signs which appear flipped via a sect-based contra-antiscia to their degrees of exaltation in the Ensign layout.

Note that because this order is for gebofal, there’s something of the “last shall be first, and the first, last” reversibility that the angels like to do. But the West-first order is also suggestive of a night chart, just as the contra-antiscia exaltation format.
