My Rainbow Body Process, Part 1

So this is all kind of new to me, but I have just had a strong intuitive sense that working on the rainbow body is the next step in my journey. There really aren’t as many rules along a spiritual journey here as you might think, so cultivating discernment and presence of mind are key.

I have generally been trying to take an integrative approach to this process, and I have dialed back my brute-force meditation in order to focus on parts of myself that have been neglected. Still, along the way I’ve been focusing on a daily prayer. I also have been charging sigils to create, perfect, and inhabit the rainbow body as I go along.

Nonetheless, I sort of know when progress is being made and when it isn’t, and right now two weeks is a little too long to get a sense that I’m moving. The usual option for a lack of progress is divination, such as the I Ching, Tarot, or horary astrology. In my case, because it was so personal, I added an energetic self-scan to the I Ching reading; the latter had a short-term “Nourishing/Waiting” hexagram (5), with changing lines to Grace (22). The self-scan indeed revealed a need to upgrade my initiation into the lower sephiroth of Hod, which will happen tomorrow (Mercury rules Hod and so it is ideal on Wednesday) and, given the I Ching‘s reply, should be successful. So I’ll do that tomorrow and will see whether another initiation into a lower sephira is needed.

Why would a lower sephira need further initiatory work? Well, I’m coming to think that the Rainbow Body, which seems to include Ain, Ain Sof, & Ain Sof Aur, needs to include a very well integrated Tree of Life on the part of the practitioner. After all, the sephiroth are the same light in different parts of the spectrum.

Once again, note that I am trying to be flexible, like the Wu Wei, and am willing to add a variety of additive or, ideally, multiplicative approaches to the task at hand. Yet I’m not spreading myself too thin. I have noted before that I have bipolar disorder and so I have worked on managing it of late with extra runs, which delays progress, but that’s what the I Ching noted anyway.

Just today I noticed that my Holy Guardian Angel has been stirred towards unfolding (which it was for the first rainbow body call) and I believe that this is coinciding with the likely results from tomorrow.

I’ll update you as I can.

Progressing in Magick

So this is a question I’ve given some thought to: how quickly should one progress in magick? How far, how fast? What should you get into?

Having tried several things in magick, I can recommend the following:

1. Meditation (at the beginning and throughout your journey, perhaps to be foregone towards the end). Vipassana & Raja (one or the other), once or twice a day. I also recommend using simple pranayama techniques to relax one’s mind and emotional state, and then mentally confronting emotional triggers (i.e., “Why do I get angry about this? Is this really me, or am I just attached to [XYZ]? Does my emotional intensity match the situation?”) at least once a week for at least a year. Don’t be afraid to go deep. This will start clearing your mind of identifications that do not match who you are, and the best part is, you’re doing the clearing, so you are in control. It’s also good to talk through your insights with good friends.

Allllsoooo…therapy, especially as you get to the weirder stuff: find a therapist who doesn’t judge the woo.

Congratulations, your mind is now on a path towards healing.

2. Groundedness practice. (added) I recommend also doing some groundedness meditation (such as imagining roots growing from your feet into the earth and drawing in from the infinite amount of energy available that which you need). To complement this, spend time walking outside, gardening, etc., to stay in touch with the real world.

Congratulations, you’re able to live in reality.

3. Hatha yoga. The mind and body are intimately connected. In general, you will want to be in excellent physical shape, so if you can, Hatha yoga regularly, do cardio at least twice a week, and add in strength training (always talk to your doctor about exercise). Give yourself a couple of months to get in good (or better) physical shape. Obviously this depends on whether you are disabled, but think about how you can get in touch with your body.

Congratulations, you’re working on integrating your body and mind.

4. Sigils (as needed). After about a month of meditation, teach yourself to make a sigil (the Austin Osman Spare method is easy to learn, but others exist). They are easy, they are cheap, they will work with beginner’s luck. Start with something simple at the “5% probability” level and charge it the easy way (look at it during the “big O“).

Congratulations, you’re empowering yourself.

5. Learn (and DO) banishing (regularly, but eventually to be largely eschewed). A few weeks after your sigil, note the degree to which it was successful (you can do more, but for serious things). Then learn the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP). After you have started a daily meditation practice, for at least a month, start learning the LBRP. It’s not that complicated. Use flash cards to memorize directions, angel names, and the like.

Then do it for the first time. Don’t be surprised if you experience some clairaudience: I definitely did my first time and I had a huge WTF moment! Once you have it memorized and can perform it fluidly, it should not take more than five minutes. Start off doing that on a weekend, then add it to your “stack” and do it once a day (ideally before a meditation), then twice a day (morning and night). If you’re not in your own place, do it silently. If space is an issue, you can do it imaginally. Later, learn the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram (LBRH).

Congratulations, you’re starting to determine your circumstances.

6. Study the elements and astrology. The classical elements are fundamental to the LBRP, and now is the time to understand what they are about. It’s good to learn about them in conjunction with astrology, because there is some overlap. For that, The Astrology Podcast is excellent. Take their significations of the signs (parts 1 & 2), the planets, the houses (parts 1 & 2), then the ones on sect, essential dignities, and then look into the aspects. This will help you understand the LBRH. It will also help you understand the astrological forces, whether they are “good” for a working and invoked, or whether they are bad and should be banished. This will take some time, definitely no less than three months, probably no less than six.

Congratulations, now you understand how circumstances can arise.

7. Raising & balancing consciousness. (added) At this point, I also would recommend slowly adding in the Middle Pillar Ritual at this point. Once a week, then twice, then daily. The idea is to start raising your awareness. It’s very important to balance this with the groundedness meditation I previously mentioned.

Congratulations, you’re developing perspective on circumstances.

8. Start thinking about your True Will. Your understanding of astrology will come in handy now. Jason Louv offers a course on this, which is excellent.

Congratulations, now you know how you want to change circumstances.

9. Holy Guardian Angel ordeal. By now you should at least have a couple of years into your studies. I really can’t recommend this enough, but I probably wouldn’t recommend this for someone who hasn’t yet had their Saturn return. Knowledge and Conversation of your Holy Guardian Angel is the first great feat of the Western magickian, according to Crowley. I recommend the Abramelin operation (I was told by my HGA to forego the demon-binding portion of the operation, as was James Eshelman). It is an ordeal, and should only be undertaken when you can. Modify it as you can for your circumstances: the original presumed so much wealth but a sincere effort to have the key aspects of the ritual (isolation, prayer, etc.) is vital. Congratulations, now you have an ally in reaching towards your true nature.

10. Enochian. Having done all of this work, you might decide to take up Enochian. It’s complicated. It’s a lot of work. But it’s worth it, soooo worth it. I’ve written before that I consider it the key to plugging in to the great Western and Eastern accomplishments (such as a Chokmah initiation and the rainbow body–a Tibetan Buddhism arising–respectively). Congratulations, you are now on the path to reaching your true nature.

You may be surprised that I have left off this list other things such as talismans (I do them, but these are not necessary), alien contact, past-life regression, and so many others. I just don’t think that they are necessary, and may even side-track from paths to some core insights. I’m willing to change my mind on this, and I’ll let you know if I do.

Enjoy!

Fourth and (Probably) Final Enochian Call to the Rainbow Body, and Prayer for Fulfillment of Same

I had one lingering issue with the call to the rainbow body, and decided to update the call to work on its durability (once again, thanks to Elsewhere for his feedback). The call now begins, “MADRIAX DSPRAF CASASAM MAOFFAS QAA DE MIAM DE TON DAMPLOZ OLPIRT DE OI, A AFFA MANIN, NOIB, MANIN TON-L.”

“O you heavens which live in the abiding, measureless body of the continuance of all variety of light of this, with the empty mind, yea, the mind of All-One [or, ‘All-God.’]”

This will probably be the last iteration, simply because the heaven itself suggested to me that I should iterate no further: this call would be enough to continue to use. Still, it occurred to me tonight that I should probably make an Enochian prayer as well to this same effect:

“ACURTOH! ADGMACH, ADGMACH, ADGMACH! GEMEGANZA!

“NAH IAD, NOIB JAIDA, NOIB MAAH, NOIB AHAH, NOIB L,

“NOIB EXARP, NOIB HCOMA, NOIB NANTA, NOIB BITOM,

“NOIB GALAS, NOIB GETHOG, NOIB THAOTH, NOIB HORLωN, NOIB INNON, NOIB AAOTH, NOIB GALETHOG!

“DRIX, GOHOLOR, OD DLUGAR DS NONCF EOL AZIA ALCHIDAO, AZIA ILS: NOIB, CASASAM MAOFFAS QAA DE MIAM DE TON DAMPLOZ OLPIRT DE OI, A AFFA MANIN, NOIB, MANIN TON-L.

“TORZU, ZACAR, OD ZAMRAN, CASASAM MAOFFAS QAA DE MIAM DE TON DAMPLOZ OLPIRT DE OI, A AFFA MANIN, NOIB, MANIN TON-L, OD SOLPETH OD PURAN eL A TON, OD LZIRN DE PELE!”

This is one of the mutual actions on the part of oneself and the Divine: God (via many names) is asked to “bring down, lift up, and give” the abiding rainbow body, and the magician then exhorts the rainbow body to “arise, move, and appear” and finally to “hearken and see God in All, and the wonders of God [the wonder-worker].” I always feel that there is something to composing these prayers from both perspectives of the giver and the gift, or how both heaven connects toward earth, and earth will connect toward heaven.

I’ll try it out and report back.

Rainbow Body Enochian Call, Third Iteration and Results

I composed another iteration of the Enochian call to the rainbow body, as follows:

MADRIAX DSPRAF MAOFFAS QAA DE TON DAMPLOZ OLPIRT DE OI, A AFFA MANIN, NOIB, MANIN TON-L… [continue the remainder of the call to the Aethyrs.]

(O, you heavens which dwell in the measureless [i.e., infinite] garments [i.e., the body] of all variety of light [i.e., a rainbow] of this [i.e., of me], with the empty mind, yea, the mind of All-One [or All-God]…”

This left me in a very tranquil state, and brought me closer to the clear-light mind. The heaven itself instructed me to maintain the clear mind meditation both during the call (and afterward—that is, to maintain this as a waking meditation). Another effect was that my subtle body seemed to melt, or conversely, that it achieved a configuration that allowed for stability within the currents of reality.

There was also specific instructions about how to behave at the time of death, to ignore things such as the pain in the heart as well as the lungs and instead just be very present in the moment with the Clear Light Mind. Additionally, there was a sense that God dipped himself down like an inverted 3D bell curve, into my central channel and feet as a blessing.

I’m very grateful.

Making a Death Talisman…for Oneself!

WHAT?! Who…what…I…WHY?!

Well, I don’t intend to die; as the late Robert Anton Wilson phrased it, I intend to “live forever, or die trying.

Still, it is of interest is covering one’s bets, as it were, with the latter half of that quote. This got me thinking that, if done well, the dying process could be helped by creating a talisman to assist oneself in the dying process.

The logic behind this one is simple. Find the Arabic lot, or part, of death in your chart, then find an upcoming transit when this part is well-aspected; I managed to find two: the first is in 2024 (with Jupiter conjunct the lot of death by 5 degrees, the sun conjunct by 2 degrees, and Venus conjunct by a handful of minutes). The second of these is in 2026, with a simple Uranus transit over the lot, but many harmonious aspects to it (I’ve found that Uranus does seem to have some association with Kether, the topmost sephirah in the Kabbalah, but I’m not yet confident enough with this association to be certain, so…we’ll see).

The question with this kind of electional astrology is where to put the ascendant. I decided to put it opposite to the lot of death (i.e., the lot of death on the descendant); in so doing, I am using the talisman to relate to my own death. No, I’m not going full comics Thanos, but it’s important to see death as something to try to get on good terms with. Tough to do that if you put the lot of death on the ascendant (which would be saying, “This talisman is going to have the personality associated with my death,”: dangerous to have death in your face like that!). Both talisman elections either have the chart ruler on or in harmonious aspect to the descendant.

The interesting thing about these talismans is that I am not sure whether these will work; only those who survive me can report back on the results! I can only suspect for now, and rely on the I Ching’s preference for the earlier of the two talismans (and so I may not make the second). If it works well and I reincarnate from a rainbow body, I’ll be sure to leave a good review (and perhaps even log in to restart the blog)!

Updated Rainbow Body Enochian call; Addition of empty mind Enochian call

This post has been updated: here is the latest iteration.

I continue to mix-and-match Eastern concepts with Enochian techniques because I believe that at the core of these traditions is the same structure of reality. In my last post on the topic, I called upon a specific part of heaven, but I decided to change it after doing some chanting to Padmasambhava. My preparation was to do the Supreme Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (I modded to add invoking-spirit pentagrams after banishing all 5 elements). This was followed by an Expanded Middle Pillar ritual (of my own devising) to call all four Kabbalistic worlds using the correspondences 776 1/2. Finally, I did a Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram, followed by a Greater Invoking Ritual of the Hexagram of OM. Because this is beyond the Tree of Life proper (i.e., associated with Ain, Ain Sof, and Ain Sof Aur), I chose to use the “color” of clear for drawing both the hexagram and the Sanskrit word–similar to the camouflage effect from Predator (but in a good way!), or heat vision waves as seen in Smallville.

The new call is phrased:

MADRIAX DSPRAF MAOFFAS QAA DE TON DAMPLOZ OLPIRT DE OI, A MANIN DE AFFA OLPIRT…[complete remainder of the call to the Aethyrs]. (“O you heavens which dwell in the measureless garment (body) of all variety of light of this, in the mind of empty light”).

I dropped the “of me” in favor of “of this” (sidestepping ego issues by referencing “me” in the call). I also linked the rainbow body to the clear light mind.

There was a nascent sense of the actualization of the lesser rainbow body afterward; this is uncharted territory for me. The vision included eclipse imagery (note the date; I was comfortable doing this magick because this was aimed at the supernals), but also Christian imagery. The message was that the cross was not to be thought of in the vertical position, to lift up the sacrifice, but rather the horizontal (emphasizing the accepting of the fulfillment of the law, so to speak). From this horizontal cross emerged a being, or perhaps a scaffold, which resembled me, who locked in around me. There was a shift, but the shift seemed to be one of awareness, as well as a subtle body shift.

I was told at the end to use a separate call for the clear mind itself, which was much simpler (and more directly referring to Ain):

MADRIAX DSPRAF AG (NOIB, AFFA MANIN)… (“O you heavens which dwell in nothing (yea, the empty mind)”).

This evoked a very peaceful state of the clear mind and I recommend trying it out.

Divine and angelic assistance in the activation of the Rainbow Body of Light

Updates at bottom…

Recently, after having worked through a lot of the development after my Kether initiation, I decided to focus on the rainbow body of light. My magick teacher, Jason Louv, emphasizes that it is not uncommon to find Easterners who have achieved this level of realization, which made me consider what additional levels there were. CodyP, a friend who I also consider a mentor, has focused on the rainbow body, as has another friend and mentor, Sean Coan.

I’m still learning about Dzogchen, but I worked up the courage to look into it and found Padmasambhava, or Guru Rinpoche. Yet another mentor who goes by kingnine suggested that I seek out direct lineage and referred me to Lama Lena, who is informative and a captivating teacher via her live videos. I have a lot to learn about it and am still studying, so take this next part with a grain of salt! But, having listened to a couple of her videos (and not necessarily knowing if that counts 100% as “lineage”!), I decided to begin reciting the mantra to Padmasambhava, and this is a daily practice of mine, if an informal and often ad hoc one.

Recently, this paid off. I had an inkling of an Enochian technique earlier, but believed I didn’t have the proper translation for the words, and sort of let the matter rest. But today, the translation hit me.

So, the rest of the matter is simple: in an Enochian setting (with furniture, having presently banished, and having already scried all of the Aethyrs over several months, etc.), make the same call to the Aethyrs, but, as with the calls to heaven in order to initiate into Chokmah, Kether, Ain Soph Aur, and Ain Soph, you will not be using an Aethyr name. Instead, you will be making a call to the heavens that governs your own rainbow body. This makes perfect sense: it is a celestial thing, and moreover it is a means of calling down heaven to earth: realization. The specific opening of the call would then be:

MADRIAX DSPRAF QAA DE TON DAMPLOZ OLPIRT DE OL… (“O you heavens which dwell in the garments/creation of all variety of light of me”).

I will follow up on this post as I experiment with it, but I’m fairly sure that it is sound.

Update 1: So thankfully there weren’t any problems with this call. It was moving, and very, very personal. I dare say it works as such, and I will be repeating it, but, of course, supplemented with meditation and my other works. 🙂

Update 2: This call has been replaced!

Update 3: Replaced again with the latest version!
