Scrying the “Inner Aethyr” of TRATOMB

Enochian is an interesting practice because there are many suggestions that it’s intended to be expanded from the source material of John Dee’s diaries. First, it embodies the idea of continuous revelation, which is to say that the Divine continues to reveal itself to us, because Dee and Edward Kelley literally petitioned God for knowledge, understanding, wisdom, etc. Second, because it’s been reconstructed from lost material, we have to make do with the information that we have and fill in the gaps in the material. Third, there are times in the source material itself that the angels hint at additional material, such as the 30 additional Parts of Earth (for a total of 121, or 11 squared) or the hints that a different Holy Table may be ultimately used, which differs from the original one received.

So it was that I found myself looking at the notes on my phone that I took when creating the Book of Silvered Leaves: a 31st “inner” Aethyr that I just forgot about (LOL–remember to take notes, kids!) by the name of TRATOMB. Unlike the first 30 Aethyrs, this one’s name is seven letters long, which means that all the letters in these Aethyrs (so far) total 97. This is an interesting parallel to me between the Book of Silvered Leaves (96 leaves across 48 pages) and the Book Amzes Naghezes Hardeh (commonly known as Liber Loagaeth, which is 98 leaves across 49 pages–though there are 101 tables in all on it).

I recently scried this Aethyr and the pertinent parts from the vision are below:

I began by seeing four separate circles in a row, with the 3rd one offset downward, reminding me of the dip in a ladle. The four circles seemed like the Tetragrammaton to me. Then they arranged themselves as the base of a square pyramid (a symbol which appeared to me during my reconstructed gebofal ritual). They then told me to imagine these five points as a 5-cell rather than a square pyramid.

Next, I saw eight circles at the points of a cube. The circles then continued to increase according to the Fibonacci sequence. I reflected on how adding or subtracting 1 to elements of the Enochian system got you interesting results: 4 watchtowers plus one gets you 5, the fifth Fibonacci integer; the seven kings of the Heptarchia plus the one king over them (Carmara) gets you to 8, the sixth Fibonacci integer. 12 zodiacal kings plus one gets you 13, the seventh Fibonacci integer (Carmara has noted to me that, as Marmara, he also is the high king over the zodiacal kings); note that the dimensions of the watchtowers are 12 by 13. The 21 letters of the Enochian alphabet themselves are the eighth Fibonacci integer, and adding 1 comes to 22, the number of letters in the Hebrew alphabet.

When it comes to reversals (the angels liked to reverse things, quoting Christ in Matthew, and numbers are no exception), 13 is the reverse of 31 (the Gematria value of one Hebrew name for God, El), 21 is the reverse of 12 (the number of apostles, tribes of Israel, signs of the zodiac, etc.).

At this point in the vision, I made an odd error–I added 21 to 8, not 13. I say that this is odd because I very rarely make arithmetic errors or mathematical errors in general (you’ll just have to take my word for it). At any rate, this led me to 29, which is an important Enochian number (see my summary of the number 29 as part of a larger analysis; a possibly easier to read summary, which follows from a more general introduction to Enochian, can be found in my Telicom article reprint). From here I added this to 21 and got 50, which is of course important in Gematria. This got me thinking about a potential alternatives to Fibonacci: 1,1,2,3,5,7 (5+2),12,19,31,50,81,112 (81+31–112 is the original number of letters in the vision given to Edward Kelley for Leaf 49)–every 6th number adds the previous number with the number two places back (rather than one).

Next, the angels pointed to the need to both add and subtract 1; subtracting from 4, you get 3, the number of points need to make a plane (note that Galvah mentioned “The Mystery of the Trinity”). 4 itself is the minimum number of points for the simplest 3D solid, a tetrahedron, while 5 is the minimum number for a hyperspace object, the aforementioned 5-cell. From 8, you can subtract to 7 (the septenary nature of Enochian), or up to 9, the trinity squared. From 13 (Christ and the apostles, Israel and his sons) you can go down to 12 or up to 14 (the number of kings and princes in the Heptarchy). From 21, you can go down to 20–half of 40 (cells in the outer ring of the Sigillum Dei Aemeth, Christ’s days in the desert, Noah’s days on the ark), or up to 22 as mentioned above. From 29 you can go down to 28 (Enochian’s 7 times the 4 watchtowers) or up to 30 (the number of Aethyrs received by Dee, the number of degrees in each sign of the zodiac). Ultimately the angels told me to look up the geometry, which is mostly done here–leave a comment if you find more interesting geometrical parallels.

Next the angels show me a light and a fractal pattern, then a golden ratio, but the angels are specific that I ought to think of this more as a fractal pattern. The golden ratio is an irregular number which converges after a long series, whereas a fractal pattern is regular from the beginning; “As above, so below, and as below, so above.” The angels show me that the light is coming through in this vision, and shows me my “point” along this fractal pattern, and show me that within, the pattern continues in a shrinking fashion, and without, it continues in a growing fashion. It’s up to the heart to rectify itself to the fractal of divinity, to “get out of its stupor” (misalignment of consciousness from the Divine).

When we move ourselves into the clear-light consciousness, because the “outer” world is not yet rectified with the Divine, there is the “skew” that CodyP has talked about, which slightly misaligns us once more out of the fractal of the Divine. The nature of the “Great Work” is to do the difficult thing of compensating for the dynamic skew. I ask, “How do I do this for myself? What is it that keeps me here?” The Divine answers, “It’s partly karma”–in the sense of how every seeker must undo a lot in their ecosystem. Because of the karma, we overly identify with the karma. We need to release ourselves from this thinking, and allow the fact that it’s going to take time. The Divine does what he can, knocking out some obstacles in my head, heart, and in the rest of my system. The Divine repeats to “just be patient, just do the work, just keep doing the work: that’s all you ever need to do,” and laughs gently. The Divine shows me one part in particular with respect to a major recent event in my life, he knocks the obstacle in my heart out there, too–allowing a greater freedom within these circumstances.

I see a large sphere that is being held by a space taken up by a cone, or more precisely a line that is rotating about an axis to create a cone. The xy-axis is not quite able to spin at the appropriate rate for the sphere to stay in the same level; this is a metaphor for the heart not being able to stay in the clear light. How does the heart compensate for this? It needs to find the bias within that is reflected in the bias without and somehow compensate for it. Part of it is working through the “unreality” or misconception or “lower-level” thinking that happens when one tries to armor the heart against the outside world. One also needs to compensate for the fact that not everyone else has done that yet and to allow for that. In that allowing and in that constant work of compassion and wisdom–yet not identifying with or craving a particular end-result of that compassion and wisdom–just allowing one’s heart to be in that space. Wisdom essentially allows one to be as effective as possible at one’s compassion, but the highest wisdom is not getting caught up in the particular results.

The vision ends and I feel very uplifted.

On Galvah & Her Mathematical and Astrological Aspects

With my recent Enochian workings, I have usually taken to working with Marmara/Carmara, the angel who is something of a high king to the Heptarchy (closest to Baligon, king of Venus—“Love conquers all”!) but also, in my experience, also seems to be high king over (or at least working in concert with) the zodiacal angelic kings. In concert with Marmara, I usually work with Galvah (and also have worked with a form of her in practices outside of Enochian proper). Aaron Leitch did an excellent write-up of Galvah last year and relates her to the mother in heaven in Revelation 12, a theory I see no reason to oppose. There’s also reason to relate her to the Mother of Life in Manicheanism, part of the World of Light (note that 28 of the angels on the Sigillum Dei Aemeth are in four groups: the Sons, Daughters, Sons of Sons, and Daughters of Daughters of Light). I won’t repeat much of what Leitch has written, but wanted to draw out some of the astrological and mathematical information associated with this mother as presented in Revelations, using the KJV translation. This would have been available shortly after Dee’s death and likely reflects some of the theology of the time—though surely can’t be thought as highly representative, given the upheaval in late medieval/early Renaissance England.

First, the obvious: verse one described the mother in heaven as “clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of 12 stars.” This is clearly a reference to the ecliptic, the 12 signs of the zodiac, and either a south node lunar eclipse (the south node representing the tail/feet) or the general sense of the moon being the lesser of the two luminaries (giving less intense but also borrowed light).

Verses 2 and 5 suggest speak of her giving birth to a son “who was to rule all the nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.” This parallels Manichaeism, in which the Mother of Life giving birth to the Original Man who is sent to Earth (this makes sense, given Manichaeism was influenced by early Christianity).

Verses 3 and 4 describe a dragon with seven heads and 10 horns. Seven of course parallels the number of classical astrological planets: the aforementioned luminaries as well as Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Note that we go from the fixed stars (zodiac) to the more volatile planets: this reminds me of SHWEP’s episode Silent Encounters (brought to us by the unmatchrd Earl Fontainelle), which includes a review of how the fixed stars were considered more divine. In The Ogdoad Reveals the Ennead (or Discourse on the Eighth & the Ninth); the eighth sphere is that of the fixed stars (and that there is a ninth sphere also a hint of a tenth sphere beyond it). Also included in that episode is a reference to ten divine powers in Corpus XIII, “hidden hymn,” which interestingly “purge [Tat] of zodiacal influence” according to Fontainellle. So we see a bit of an opposition between the number 10 and the zodiac across these various texts.

Returning to Revelations 12: Verse 6 has the mother flee into the wilderness for “a thousand two hundred and threescore days,” or 1260 days. 1260 is 35*36, a near square (note that each of the watchtower tablets is 12×13, another near square). 1260 is 2^2 * 3^2 * 5 * 7, the first four primes, with the first two squared, and all four—even the first two squares, 4 and 9–being less than 10. 4 and 9 together, of course, together are reminiscent of 49, the number of leaves of Amzes Naghezes Hardeh and the square of the number 7 which is repeated so often in Enochian. 1260 days is just under 3.5 years (half of 7, or 1/10 of 5*7). The other references to the mother are in verses 14, in which the mother is “given wings of a great eagle“ (like an angel!) and flies to a great wilderness, to be nourished away from the serpent (Satan) for (switching to the NIV here) “a time, times, and half a time,” which is a minimum of 3.5 (the same number we’ve seen before—indeed much of this verse repeats verse 6). Finally, in verse 16, the mother is aided by the Earth itself: “as above, so below.”

As I’ve come to discover, there’s a lot of astrology to be found if you revisit the Bible. However, I wasn’t expecting later Hermetic astrology and Manichaeism to parallel Revelations so strongly!

Zodiacal Table and Lamen: Effects

I wanted to briefly touch on the zodiacal tools (lamen and table) effects in the event that others have been inspired to use it. For this, I am drawing both from my first time calling the zodiacal kings forth in April, the first time that I scried LIL with both the Zodiacal Lamen and Zodiacal Holy Table, and finally some clarifying questions to the zodiacal kings today. I’ll note that for both times I called on the Zodiacal kings, it was the king associated with my rising sign (ascendant) who appeared first. I recommend calling forth all 12 kings and seeking reconciliation towards their energies. I have found all of their prophetic sayings to be accurate.

The main quote that I received during my scrying LIL to consider the zodiacal energies called forth to be like nuclear fusion: “Things are brought together and the energy therein is contained through the massiveness of the process.” I strongly encourage a general review of nuclear fusion in order for the rest of this post to be clear.

First and foremost, my preliminary view is that zodiacal workings are is both potent and subtle, so be prepared for unexpected effects. Beyond this, the zodiacal forces that have arisen have been contra-antiscia to those in my natal chart, an astrological aspect which I have previously noted on the Holy Table of Practice transmitted to Dee & Kelley. Contra-antiscia signifies energies which are balanced across the equinox line (or plane) of 0 degrees Aries to 0 degrees Libra. Equinoxes are literal moments of balance: both the northern and southern hemispheres have days and nights of equal length (Libra, of course, means “scales” in Latin). Therefore, bringing in energies contra-antiscia to one’s own suggests attempting to balance one’s own astrological energies with a complement, with the overall result being a greater alignment with the zodiacal influences when they are at their most balanced.

Note that nuclear fusion is also a balance of massive energies–the energy of plasma as well as the energy needed to contain such plasma (the latter coming in the form of massive gravity or, on Earth, very strong artificial magnetic fields). This is in line with the phrase “massiveness of the process” in that the 360 degrees of the zodiac (if thought of as spaces looking like wedges of an orange expanded out in all directions) represent the whole of the universe, or perhaps the Divine itself. My reflection on this is to prepare oneself for influences to which one has previously been blinded, but which have an underlying recognizability when they arise in one’s life.

Today, the angels in particular mentioned that there are also antiscia elements of the zodiacal energies which they rarely stir up, specifically, to quote my friend CodyP, they volatize the fixed and fix the volatile. At times they first do one and then the other, returning the individual to their original level of dynamism. Here, they used the analogy of a caterpillar, which becomes fixed in its chrysalis form, and then volatile (or more dynamic) as a butterfly. It is rare for someone to be the focus of only this antiscia energy, they said, and would be used for someone who is either fossilized or flailing. The effect of the antiscia would be like a slingshot. Here they gave a different analogy of an asteroid making a parabola around the sun, moving from kinetic energy to potential and then back to kinetic energy again. The effects of the antiscia energy would be to not necessarily change their energetic nature but to change the course of that energy for the best possible outcome.

I strongly suspect that the magician working with these zodiacal energies would do little but open the door to the Divine, and let His mysterious ways issue forth.

Gebofal, Day 1

Sunrise: So course I was a little sloppier than I would’ve liked, so I was a teensy bit late in starting. No particular dress, but there’s nothing against doing that.

I said the prayer of Enoch as related by the Angel Ave, and then activated the furniture, placed my foot upon the seal of the Heptarchical king CARMARA, then scried TEX. I had the book opened to the front of Leaf 49, but of course I realized it should’ve been the back of the leaf, and I was guided to do so during the vision.

Vision of TEX (30th and lowest Aethyr): so this was interesting; the usual vision of TEX —and I’m spoilering things you may want to be unbiased about when scrying the Aethyrs yourself—relating to the desert landscape was overlaid with smoke arising from Leaf 49, as if the vision was missing this extra layer. The smoke arose and related to the pillars of cloud and fire in Exodus. It’s also like the smoke of what you see at the beginning of the alchemical process, & the pillar of fire is like unto the light of Ain Soph Aur at the end of the alchemical process. They’re saying that gebofal is a process of subtly tweaking what I’ve learned already. Then they ask me to look at the back page, which is two 3×7 tables arranged so that it appears that a middle row is missing. They suggest trying to focus on what sort of flexible symbol might go there to anchor myself to go across the multiple levels of being; they note that the symbol for Kether & the Taijitu symbol both have within them more flexibility in order to relate to the whole. My symbol will ultimately be there (I’m pretty sure I was thinking about a personal symbol last night). They suggest using the Enochian-language heart mantra to aid in this.

The vision ends w/ a preview of the landscape changing, now not merely a desert but one with mountains in the distance & it now being noon (the time of my next ritual today); having taken the 1st step, the landscape shifts. They tell me that using the seal of Carmara is fine for this morning, but to switch to the Sunday angelic king Bobogel for the remaining two rituals today.

Solar noon: At the angels’ direction, I called upon Bobogel; I was careful to also use Stenwick’s method in his Mastering the Mystical Heptarchy book (foot on the seal, which is on the ground).

Then I made the call to TEX again. The angels noted that having the five angels creates a 5-simplex, which begins a process of unfolding into the higher dimensions. The remaining Aethyrs take the initiate into aspects of this dimensionality until, as with Aethyr 14, another dimension arises. So we’re given additional dimensionality & a parallel to the quintessence. This is maximally available when the Heptarchical kings are used, and—here the angels were quite explicit—the Heptarchy should be understood as to always be used with the Aethyrs. Doing a 49-day ritual makes this more obvious, as each king would be called on 21 times, and Carmara/Marmara the final time (my using Carmara is forgiven & Bobogel as mostly having come through).

Next, the angels talked about the Pillar of Light, and they referred back to book, Leaf 49a (front), & showed it as though lightning were hitting it. They suggested I see the pillar as a continuous electric discharge, the massive amount of energy available off at any moment in space as virtual energy, the limitless/Ain Soph of energy manifesting visually as limitless light, Ain Soph Aur. This shows the immense power of any individual person within a space. Any space a person inhabits occupies space, and all of this space is indeed subject to this force of Ain, in the sense of 1 (individual) = 0 (Ain & its power) + 1 (individual) (shout out to Rachel Fell and Filoprax for their elaboration on this). They’re also noting that each day of gebofal can be thought of as introducing a dimension by stages by producing a view, then its shadow, and finally both can be seen from a 3rd side.

Sunset: The angels instruct me to flip back and forth to the front and back of Leaf 49. There’s something of a shimmer or vibrational impression that comes to me from doing this. The angels have me recall the smoke as representing the beginning of the alchemical process and the light as the end. They have me recall that Moses led the children of Israel with the pillars of fire and cloud, and that the pillars that I see are somewhat more toward the extreme of this spectrum in terms of materiality and in terms of shadow and light. There’s the idea of the material basis for energy such as fuel (here they note that nuclear fusion isn’t that far off). What remains after consumption is matter which cannot be broken down into an energetic reaction. Combining that with the flowing of energy implied by the pillar of light, you get the basic idea of what an organism, including a human being, is. The materiality of the energetic system allows for the system to continue and perpetuate itself and to move throughout its existence, and of course we take in material that is consumable and excrete the opposite at the opposite end of our alimentary tube. Human beings move in a relatively intelligent way, much as the Divine moves according to the divine’s ways, with a constant flow of energy in selected parts of the universe.

The angels highlight that with a close inspection and relatively aspiritual reflection on the nature of things, we still get this beautiful idea of divine-like movement throughout the cosmos and nature. We associate the divine with a process, a plan, and an intelligent and elegant (often taking the form of a mathematical) unfolding in ways that defy a mere human’s ability to plan. What matters as far as humanity is concerned is to be more intelligent with its use of natural resources, caring for individual people, and to understand our relatively matter-bound nature. This extends to aliens and understanding that life on other planets has to deal–or has already dealt–with similar issues.

After this “download” or what we used to call a message, I’m taken to the vision proper. It is nightfall in the vision; I’m taken to the center of the valley which I saw in the previous vision. Now I can see clearly a crystalline-like square pyramid, or perhaps it’s fairer to say an invisible pyramid with outlines of light. The angels tell me to consider Binah and how only through the experience of darkness was Babalon to be seen clearly. Now through the clarity of having gone through the process of making Amzes Naghezes Hardeh, of having seen the deluge of possibilities of how these leaves could be arranged meaningfully in someone’s life (mathematically: 49 factorial), let alone the specific meanings of why the leaves would be arranged in this way, there’s a sort of blinding level of possibility for the mind to reckon with. This is only to be expanded by considering the elemental circumference of the heart for the individual to measure out by the Watchtower tablets, relative influence and strength of subdivisions and angelic influence here.

Nonetheless, there emerges the structure of a square pyramid, which can be thought of as an octahedron with chthonic spirits below, one can see different stairs, classes, or levels of possibility which narrow as the heart balances itself elementally (e.g., with holy guardian angel work) and attunes oneself to the arrangement of the leaves as given in this transmission. Eventually the emergence of the point of spirit and each individual’s orientations towards a unique set of fixed stars towards which the pyramid points in the sky. First one must reckon with the equal universal nature of possibility–the “sphere” of the fixed stars as they appear to us on Earth. In other words, an emergent structure appears and the elements leads up to it, and there is a singular direction–such as the True Will–to which an individual becomes oriented.

Here my mind alights on the septenary nature of Enochian. The angels note that the Zodiac is a circular/360-degree slice out of this sphere, but generally say they will talk about a missing piece relative to all of the previous posts on this on my blog. The pyramid, they come back to, is somewhat symbolic of humanity’s progress on the planet and also the union of earth with heaven. There’s some clarity which happens when one aligns with the directionality of a pyramid–here my mind alights upon how the square pyramid unites with a previous scrying session in which I saw an infinite cylinder which pointed in the direction of the aforementioned set of fixed stars. Again, the angels put me off on this question: “You’re approaching Atziluth with this question,” they ask (TEX is far below but of course has it within it). But it relates to being aware of the perimeter of the planet at the sphere in which one moves.

Regarding the personal symbol of the center of such a sphere or circle, the angels offer suggestions, but I won’t present mine until it’s complete.
